Happy New Year from Greg & Jady Roberts

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE VINEYARD?
With the start to the cool summer the vines have been subject to fungus but fingers crossed the vines are still looking strong and healthy due to Greg’s diligence in applying fish and seaweed emulsion on a regular basis. The vines have now all been shoot thinned and Greg is doing the final hedging. The pinot noir is going through veraison and the chardonnay is at bunch closure. Greg and Jady are getting ready to put the bird netting out next week.

Bright crimson colour, ripe cherry berry fruits, hints of mocha and coffee with fruit sweetness enhanced by oak, medium bodied, attractive ripe fruit on the palate with some elegant attributes and excellent length.

2008 Chardonnay
Bright, pale straw colour, intense aroma of stone fruit, the palate shows intensity of melons, stone fruit, golden delicious apples, grapefruit, good depth of flavour, palate weight, textured layering and oak with an excellent long finish.

THE WINERY
Greg has brought all the wines to completion for bottling and is now sorting through the barrels for the next vintage. There will be barrels going out to pasture. Should you require any barrels for flowerpots or vegetable pots please contact Greg on 0417 318 774 for price and availability.
