What's Happening in the Vineyard 2007?
After cold nights, where the frosts were light,
The vines were stunted but now have towered, with busy bees the bunches have flowered,
Ladybirds on the ground, so there’s no grubs to be found,
Very little rain, is causing minor pain,
As we have lots of water, for the rest of the quarter,
A healthy site, to our delight,
Albeit we’re still praying for a favourable climb, right up to harvest time.
Harvest 2008
We expect to crop 3 tonnes of chardonnay and 3 tonnes of pinot noir in or about March 2008. We expect 6 tonnes of Heathcote shiraz.
Wine Bottling
2006 Pinot Noir – Has now been bottled.
2006 Heathcote Shiraz – To be bottled December 2007.
New Release – Wonga Estate 2006 Chardonnay – To be Released on 9th December 2007
Bright, Pale yellow straw colour, intense aromas of grapefruit, lime and lemon zest, green apples, palate shows intensity of fruit, textured layering and excellent integration of French oak.
